PeopleSoft to Fusion: questions to answer before you move
For teams weighing a lift to Oracle Cloud. · 2 min read
Oracle continues to support PeopleSoft, so there is rarely a hard deadline. That makes the decision about value, not urgency.
Questions worth answering first
- Which of your customisations exist because of a real business rule, and which exist because of history?
- How much of your reporting depends on PeopleSoft Query, nVision or direct database access?
- Who owns Integration Broker and component interface integrations today, and what replaces them (OIC, REST, file-based loads)?
- Can your team absorb quarterly Fusion updates and their regression testing?
A sensible path
Many organisations move HCM or financials first and run both systems for a period. Others stay on PeopleSoft, modernise the UI with Fluid, and revisit cloud in a few years. Both are reasonable; the wrong move is migrating customisations one-for-one.
